Jammu, Oct. 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police have secured the conviction of a terror accused involved in the killing of Sarpanch in the Doda district.
The police spokesman here today said that the terror accused, identified as Irfan Ali, resident of Kilhotran, Tehsil Gandoh, Doda, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the offences punishable under relevant sections of the Ranbir Penal Code and the Arms Act.
Sharing the details, he said that a case was registered at Police Station Gandoh on July 4, 2002, following the cold-blooded murder of an innocent civilian who happened to be the Sarpanch of his area namely Sher Mohd of Changa Gandoh, by the accused and his associates affiliated with a militant outfit.
