Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- The issue surrounding the closure of Dadar Kabutarkhana following directives from the Bombay High Court has sparked tensions.

Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had covered and sealed the Kabutarkhana with tarpaulin sheets. However, members of the Jain community staged a sudden protest, tearing off the tarpaulin recently.

During the protest, the gathered crowd of Jain community members in the Dadar area became highly aggressive. Bamboo poles used by the BMC to secure the tarpaulin were broken, and some women from the community reportedly carried knives to cut ropes and cords.
