Chandigarh, Sept. 16 -- Tensions flared in Punjab's Bathinda as local youths were detained for raising anti-migrant slogans, including "Bhaiye Bhajao, Punjab Bachao" (drive out outsiders, save Punjab), on Multania Road and Amrik Singh Road.

The incident follows a recent event in Hoshiarpur that sparked outrage among locals, leading to protests where migrants were allegedly coerced into shutting down their businesses and warned to leave the state.

Police authorities swiftly intervened, detaining the involved youths. DSP City Narinder Singh stated that law and order would be strictly maintained, and no disruptions to peace would be tolerated.
