Saharanpur, Oct. 1 -- The ongoing tension in Bareilly following a recent poster controversy has now taken a political turn. Congress MP Imran Masood and Samajwadi Party MLC Shahnavaz Khan, who were scheduled to meet senior officials in Bareilly today, were placed under house arrest earlier this morning by the local administration.

Heavy police deployment was seen outside both leaders' residences since late last night, effectively preventing them from traveling to Bareilly. The administration stated that this move was a precautionary measure aimed at maintaining law and order in the region.
