Aligarh, Dec. 1 -- A wedding reception in the Civil Lines area of Aligarh turned tense late Sunday night after a food-stall board labeled "Beef Korma" sparked a clash between BJP workers and BSP leaders.

Police later detained three people, including members of the catering staff, for questioning, officials confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place at a guest house where guests noticed a board labeling a meat-gravy dish as "Beef Korma." Jawaa Nagar Panchayat chairman's son, Akash, and his associate Gaurav objected, alleging that beef was being served at the event.

The argument soon escalated, and several BJP youth workers arrived at the venue.
