Chaibasa, Sept. 25 -- Ten Naxalites surrendered today at the Chaibasa Police Centre in West Singhbhum district in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta.
The surrender was carried out under the Jharkhand Government's Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy, which offers extremists a chance to return to the mainstream.
Police officials said the surrendered cadres were active in the Kolhan and Saranda regions, areas long affected by Naxalite activity.
Among those who laid down arms were Rando Boipai alias Kanti Boipai, an area committee member, along with Garti Koda, John alias Johan Purti, Nirso Sidu alias Asha, Ghonor Devgam, Kaira Koda, Kari Kayam alias Gulanchi, Savitri Gope alias Muturi, and Pradeep Singh Munda. Sev...
