Shimla, April 24 -- Himachal Pradesh recorded an unusually sharp rise in temperatures on Wednesday, with Una hitting a scorching 39.0degC - the highest temperature in the state.

This marks a significant increase of 3.6 degrees Celsius above the normal, indicating a sudden and early onset of intense summer conditions.

Several other regions across the state also recorded abnormal temperature surges. Hamirpur touched 37.5degC, with a departure of 3.9degC from normal.

Bhuntar recorded 32.4degC, 4.0degC above normal. Bilaspur saw 35.7degC, which was 2.1degC higher than usual. Mandi, Sundernagar, and Dharamshala also experienced temperatures well above their seasonal averages.
