Hyderabad, April 24 -- A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) driver, Kola Shankar Goud (55), who attempted suicide on Thursday amid the ongoing RTC strike, succumbed to his injuries at Apollo DRDO Hospital in the early hours of Friday.

As part of the strike, RTC workers staged protests at several places across Telangana on Thursday.

In this context, Shankar Goud, a driver at the Narsampet RTC depot, allegedly poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire in front of the Narsampet bus stand, reportedly protesting the delay in the merger of RTC with the government.
