Khammam, April 9 -- A special school for visually impaired students has been established in the district with modern facilities as part of the Telangana Government's Praja Palana initiative.

The school has been set up at the Government Primary School in Nizampet following requests received from the public and representations made during Prajavani, officials said on Thursday.

The initiative was taken under the guidance of District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, in coordination with AC (LB) Dr P Srija and ZP CEO Diksha Raina.

The facility has been developed with an aim to ensure that visual impairment does not become a barrier to education and that visually challenged students receive equal opportunities in society.
