Hyderabad, May 30 -- In view of the onset of the monsoon, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram on Friday instructed the officials to undertake a massive Vanamahotsavam (afforestation drive) across all areas of SCCL starting June 1.
He stated that 40 lakh saplings will be planted and maintained over 675 hectares this year.
To review the progress of the prestigious 'Neeti Bindhu-Jala Sindhu' water conservation programme and the preparations for the afforestation activities, Balram conducted a special video conference with company directors, area General Managers, and heads of the Forestry and Environment Departments.
