Hyderabad, May 25 -- A police constable was killed and three others were injured, one of them critically, when a speeding lorry rammed into their patrol vehicle on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway near Shamshabad in the early hours of Sunday.
According to police, the accident occurred while the police team was conducting a routine vehicle check.
The injured constables were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The deceased constable, identified as Vijay Kumar, was attached to the Shamshabad Police Station.
Preliminary investigation suggests the accident was caused by the lorry's excessive speed.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, police added. UNI VV SSP
