Hyderabad, March 30 -- Telangana Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy today made a renewed and heartfelt appeal to underground cadres of the CPI (Maoist) to abandon violence, surrender their weapons, and join the democratic mainstream for a safe and dignified life.

Echoing the earlier call of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the DGP urged Maoist leaders and cadres to reintegrate into society and live peacefully with their families.

Highlighting the success of the state's rehabilitation policy, Shivadhar Reddy said that over the past two years, a total of 721 Maoist cadres of various ranks from Telangana and Chhattisgarh have surrendered and returned to normal life.
