Hyderabad, Oct. 11 -- BC organizations today called for a statewide bandh on October 14 in protest against the High Court stay on Government Order (GO 9) which provided a 42 per cent reservation quota for backward classes (BCs) in local bodies.

This decision was taken at a meeting held here with the 22 BC organizations, who have given full backing to the bandh, calling for a statewide shutdown on Tuesday to protest the High Court stay on the 42 per cent BC reservations in local bodies, said National BC Welfare Assocation President and Rajya Sabha member R.Krishnaiah here.
