Hyderabad, Sept. 16 -- The Telangana government will forgo approximately Rs 5,000 crore in annual revenue due to the revision of GST rates, but this decision has been taken in the larger interest of the poor, middle class, and farming communities, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu stated today.

Addressing the business community at the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute, Mallu explained that the Cabinet, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's leadership, had made a conscious policy decision to rationalise GST. "As a member of the GST Council, I actively represented the people of Telangana to ensure this reform benefits crores of families nationwide," he added.
