Telangana to host its biggest Open Rapid Chess Tournament

Hyderabad, Dec. 3 -- Telangana will host its largest-ever open rapid chess tournament later this month, with the Ekagra Chess Academy announcing a record prize pool of Rs 22.22 lakhThe two-day event is scheduled to be held at the Hitex Exhibition Centre on December 20 and 21.

Addressing a press conference at the Somajiguda Press Club, Ekagra International Chess Tournament Vice Chairman and Nandi Award winner Sharif Mohammed said this is the first time such a large rapid chess tournament is being organised in the state.

"A total prize money of Rs 22,22,222 will be distributed among the winners," he said.
