Hyderabad, Feb. 18 -- Telangana state stood at 6th position with 2438 patents being filed in the country for 2022-23, according to a recent annual report released by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) for the year 2022-23.

TN occupied the first position in patent filings, followed by Maharashtra and UP, the report revealed.

The total filing of all IPRs stood at over 6.01 lakh, an increase of 5.94 percent in the filings from the previous year, the report said.

The total number of patents filed in the years 2022-2023 stood at 82,811, which is 24.6 more than last year's numbers.

The percentage of Indian applicant filings has gone up to 52.59 percent for this year, which is very encouraging to see.
