Hyderabad, June 21 -- Telangana should serve as a "compass" for the entire country in the electricity sector, said Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Saturday.
Addressing a gathering of electricity department staff at Praja Bhavan, he announced a 1.944 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for electricity employees and pensioners in the state.
The revised DA will benefit 71,417 employees and pensioners, including artisans. The hike will be implemented retrospectively from January 2025.
The hike is likely to place an additional burden of Rs 11.193 crore per month on power companies.
