Hyderabad, Oct. 15 -- Telangana has achieved the highest-ever grain yield in independent India with a record production of 148.03 lakh metric tons during the current monsoon season, State Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Captain N Uttam Kumar Reddy announced on Wednesday.
He was speaking at a video conference with district Collectors held at the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat to review monsoon paddy procurement.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra, and other senior officials.
