New Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept. 4 -- A high-level delegation from the Telangana government today urged union Home Minister Amit Shah to extend immediate central assistance in the wake of the devastating floods caused by heavy rains across the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, State Special Representative Jitender Reddy, and senior officials met the Home Minister at his residence in Delhi and submitted a detailed memorandum.

Explaining the extent of the damage, the Ministers said torrential rains between August 25 and 28 led to severe flooding in Kamareddy, Medak, Nirmal, and Nizamabad districts, besides affecting several others.
