New Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept. 16 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao met union Minister of State for Fertilisers and Chemicals Anupriya Patel in New Delhi, urging immediate intervention to bridge the 2 lakh tonnes of urea deficit that has emerged during the ongoing Kharif season.

Minister Tummala appealed today for the shortfall to be covered within this month itself and further requested that Telangana farmers receive a steady supply of two lakh tonnes of urea every month during the upcoming Rabi season without any hurdles.

Responding to the appeal, union Minister Anupriya Patel assured that the Centre is committed to meeting Telangana's needs.
