Hyderabad, Jan. 16 -- Continuing the spike, Telangana recorded 249 fresh COVID-19 cases until 2000 hrs on Friday pushing the total COVID-19 infection count to 2,91,367 in the state till date.
The state suffered one COVID-19 death in the last 24 hours to take the death toll to 1,575 so far translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Saturday.
A total of 417 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide between Thursday and
Friday taking the total recoveries in the state thus far to 2,85,519 constituting a recovery rate of 97.99 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.5 per cent.
