Hyderabad, Feb. 3 -- Telangana has been allocated a record Rs. 5,337 crores for railway development under the 2025-26 Union Budget, as announced by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, during a virtual press conference held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday.

Vaishnaw highlighted that this allocation is part of a total investment of Rs. 41,677 crores for various railway projects in Telangana. He also noted that the state's average annual allocation during 2009-14 was only Rs. 886 crores, marking a six-fold increase in the current budget.
