Hyderabad, Aug. 3 -- Telangana Transport and Backward Class Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday hit out at Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, accusing him of provoking regional sentiments over the use of floodwater for agriculture.
In a video statement, Ponnam Prabhakar said Lokesh's comments create an impression that Telangana is taking away Andhra Pradesh's share, without understanding the real water allocation scenario.
"The net water available to Telangana in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh was 968 TMCs after allocating 531 TMCs to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. After accounting for surplus water on that net availability, only then can flood water be considered," he explained.
