Hyderabad, July 28 -- With power demand in Telangana hitting record levels this monsoon season, Principal Secretary for Energy Naveen Mittal, IAS, has directed electricity officials to stay alert and ensure uninterrupted supply, especially as agricultural operations intensify across the state.
During a video conference held with officials of the Southern Telangana Electricity Distribution Company (TGSPDCL) on Monday, Naveen Mittal noted that power consumption this July has seen a significant spike, particularly in Greater Hyderabad and rural agricultural belts. The maximum power demand recorded on July 16 this year was 15,450 MW, marking a 14.05 percent increase over the peak demand of 13,541 MW recorded on the same day last year.
