Hyderabad, Aug. 14 -- In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, the Telangana Police Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) to provide distance education degree courses to police constables.
The MoU was signed at the Telangana Police Headquarters on Thursday by DGP Dr Jitender and BRAOU Registrar Dr L Vijaya Krishna Reddy, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof Ganta Chakrapani and senior police officials.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP Jitender said the department had identified nearly 30,000 constables and head constables who have not completed their graduation.
