Hyderabad, Aug. 13 -- Telangana Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar has dismissed as "baseless and politically motivated" the allegations of a RS 600-crore scam in the procurement of eggs for welfare residential educational institutions in the state.

He said the charges stem from a misunderstanding of the government's recent orders and a deliberate attempt to mix up policy changes.

Referring to G.O.Ms. No. 17, issued on July 8, 2025, the minister clarified that there was no truth in the claim that the new policy was designed to benefit big contractors.

"The difference between G.O.Ms. 16 and G.O.Ms. 17 is being distorted and propagated," he said.
