Hyderabad, Sept. 29 -- Telangana BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today appealed to all political parties and caste organizations to extend support to the state government's decision to implement 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in the upcoming local body elections.
Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Prabhakar said the government had fulfilled its promise by conducting a caste survey, setting up a dedicated commission and sub-committee, holding cabinet discussions, and securing unanimous approval in the Legislative Assembly before sending the proposal to the Governor and the President.
