Hyderabad, July 14 -- Telangana Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy today urged the Union Government to take immediate action on long-pending water and irrigation issues concerning the Krishna and Godavari river basins.
In a detailed letter to Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil, he highlighted the delays in clearances for crucial projects like the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Dindi Lift Irrigation Schemes, which are vital for drought-prone regions.
The Minister stressed that despite Telangana's legal entitlement, the state continues to suffer due to Andhra Pradesh's illegal diversion of Krishna waters from the Srisailam reservoir.
