Hyderabad, March 26 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced in the Legislative Assembly that the state government has decided to take strict action against online rummy, betting apps, and digital gambling platforms.

He emphasised that merely investigating those who promote such platforms would not be enough and that cooperation with neighbouring states and even countries would be necessary to tackle the issue effectively.

To ensure a comprehensive crackdown, the government will appoint a special investigative team to take necessary steps against individuals and organizations involved in the promotion or management of these betting apps.
