Hyderabad, July 30 -- Telangana Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy on Wednesday reaffirmed the Telangana government's commitment to eradicating bonded labour, declaring that the goal is to make the state completely free from Vetti Chakiri (forced labour).

Addressing a state-level conference on National Vetti Chakiri Vimukti Day, organised jointly by the State Labour Department, Telangana Unorganised Workers' Association, and various NGOs at CESS, Pajagutta, the minister announced a series of welfare measures aimed at rehabilitating freed bonded labourers. Among the key promises was the allotment of Indiramma Houses and financial aid to those who have been liberated from forced labour.
