Hyderabad, Jan. 15 -- In a rare humanitarian gesture, the Telangana government has borne the entire cost of repatriating the mortal remains of a worker who died in Oman, after the company management refused responsibility and the Indian Embassy cited a shortage of funds.
The intervention reflects Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's focus on the welfare of Telangana expatriates, an official statement said on Thursday.
The deceased, Golla Abbullu (Togari Abbayya), 40, belonged to Yamcha village in Navipet mandal of Nizamabad district. He had gone to work for a cleaning company in Salalah, Oman, about four months ago. After reportedly leaving the company due to dissatisfaction with the management, Abbullu died on December 14 in the Ibri region....
