Hyderabad, Sept. 20 -- Former MP and Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha today said that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi should ask Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to stop raising the height of Almatti dam.
Kavitha, who recently resigned from the BRS party, claimed the Karnataka Government is preparing to acquire 1.30 lakh acres to raise the Almatti dam's height by 5 meters to store an additional 100 TMC of water.
If that happens, the people in Telangana might as well go there to play cricket - that's how little water will be left, she claimed, adding that the Maharashtra government has objected to Karnataka's decision to raise Almatti's height and its Chief Minister made it clear that two districts in Maharashtra will be flooded.
