Hyderabad, Nov. 28 -- Telangana Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivas Rao on Sunday said that the state government was ready to tackle Omicron, the new Covid-19 variant, which was detected in South Africa.
Speaking to newsmen after conducting a review meeting with Health Minister T Harish Rao here, Dr Rao cautioned people to be alert by following the Covid-19 guidelines.
Stating that the Health Department is making all efforts to contain it, the Director said the Covid-19 fresh cases were steady during the last two days in the state.
He said that the new variant of Omicron cases were not registered in the country so far. The Centre was taking all steps for screening of passengers at all International airports across the country.
