Hyderabad, Nov. 19 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu today said India and Russia share a long-standing friendship, and the state welcomes Russian interest in investing across agriculture, power, defence and cooperative banking sectors.

He held discussions with representatives of the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI) and Russia's VTB Bank at Praja Bhavan, an official statement said.

Bhatti highlighted Telangana's rapid progress in multiple sectors, noting that the state leads the country in paddy production with 1.40 lakh metric tonnes harvested in a single season.
