Hyderabad, Jan. 5 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Monday said in the Legislative Council that the state government has recognised the invaluable services of poet and lyricist Ande Sri, who united the people of Telangana through the iconic "Jaya Jayahe Telangana" song, and has provided a government job to a member of his family as a mark of respect.

The Deputy Chief Minister recalled that Ande Sri, born as Ande Yellaiah in Repparthi village of Siddipet district, rose from a life of hardship as an orphan and cattle herder to become a powerful voice of Telangana.
