New Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct. 14 -- Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday said the Telangana government has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order staying state government's 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections.
Speaking to the media at the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the government's 40-page petition has been filed and is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow. He said the Congress government has taken a historic and sincere decision to improve the lives of OBCs, but the move is being opposed by both the BJP and BRS at every step.
