Hyderabad, Feb. 14 -- The Telangana government has decided to extend the tenure of the governing bodies of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs) in the state by six months.

An official order was issued on Friday, granting an extension to all 904 cooperative societies and the tenure of nine DCCB chairmen.

The election process for these governing bodies typically begins six months before their tenure ends.

However, with the February 15 deadline approaching and no announcement from the Registrar of State Cooperative Societies, the government opted for an extension to ensure smooth functioning.
