Hyderabad, May 29 -- In a significant move, the Telangana government has approved enhanced retirement benefits for Anganwadi teachers and helpers across the state.
The Finance Department has cleared a proposal from the Women and Child Welfare Department, paving the way for the issuance of a Government Order (GO) to implement the revised benefits.
As per the new provisions, Anganwadi teachers who retire will receive Rs 2 lakh, while helpers will receive Rs 1 lakh as retirement benefits. This is a substantial increase from the existing benefits of Rs 1 lakh for teachers and Rs 50,000 for helpers.
Currently, Telangana has over 37,580 Anganwadi centres, with approximately 70,000 staff members-one teacher and one helper at each centre. On ave...
