Hyderabad, Oct. 9 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today strongly defended the state government's reforms in the RTC and criticised political parties attempting to exploit the "Chalo Bus Bhavan" call.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, he highlighted the government's achievements in transforming the RTC and ensuring employee welfare.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the government started free bus travel for women within 48 hours of taking office, and since then, women passengers have travelled 250 crore times at no cost.

"We are bringing the RTC from losses to profits while focusing on three main agendas-passenger comfort, organisational protection, and employee welfare," he said.
