Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu reaffirmed the state government's commitment to providing 42 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in education, politics, and economic sectors, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the BC community.
Speaking to the media at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat on Wednesday, he announced that the BC Reservation Bill will be introduced and approved in the Telangana Legislative Assembly in the first week of March, in line with the Congress party's pre-election promise.
He further stated that after passage in the state assembly, the bill will be taken to Parliament, and all necessary efforts will be made to secure its approval.
