Tirumala, April 1 -- Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, accompanied by the First Lady, offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Wednesday. The Governor was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the temple's Mahadwaram by officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Temple priests extended traditional honours and escorted him into the sanctum sanctorum, where he paid obeisance to the presiding deity.
Later, Vedic scholars rendered 'Vedasirvachanam' to the Governor at the Ranganayakula Mandapam.
TTD officials presented him with 'theertha prasadams' along with a portrait of Lord Venkateswara.
