Hyderabad, Sept. 20 -- Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Saturday extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the Bathukamma festival, which commences on September 21.
In his message, the Governor said, "I extend my heartiest wishes and warm greetings to all the women of Telangana on the auspicious commencement of the Bathukamma festival."He described Bathukamma as a special festival associated with Mother Nature and a vibrant celebration of life by the women of Telangana. "The colourful seasonal wild flowers used in preparing the Bathukamma possess medicinal properties that help cleanse water bodies replenished by the copious rains of the season," he noted.
