Hyderabad, Feb. 2 -- Telangana has been sanctioned a record Rs 5,454 crore for railway projects in the union Budget 2026-27, marking a significant boost to the State's rail infrastructure, union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday.

Briefing the media through a virtual press conference from New Delhi on the budget highlights pertaining to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Minister said the allocation reflects the Centre's sustained commitment to strengthening rail connectivity and mobility in the region.

The press meet was attended by South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava and other senior railway officials at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
