Hyderabad, July 5 -- In a significant step toward empowering women, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, presented a cheque of Rs 1.05 crore to 151 mandal-level women's groups - owners of rented buses operated by the RTC, at Praja Bhavan today.
Following the event, the dignitaries also released a book titled Maha Lakshmi: Wheels of Progress in Women's Empowerment, penned by women poets and writers. The book reflects the transformative impact of the Maha Lakshmi scheme, which offers free travel for women in state-run RTC buses.
