Hyderabad, March 17 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday highlighted the state government's welfare initiatives for farmers and women while strongly criticising the BRS during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address in the Legislative Assembly.

Participating in the debate, the Deputy Chief Minister said farmers are significantly benefiting from the paddy bonus scheme, saving around Rs 25,000 each.

He stated that a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal is being directly credited to farmers cultivating fine varieties of paddy, recognising their efforts.

He also noted that Rs 9,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa was deposited into farmers' accounts within just nine days.
