Nalgonda, Aug. 1 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu today dedicated the first 800 MW unit of the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) to the nation.
The power plant is located at Veerlapalem in Damaracherla Mandal of Nalgonda district.
Marking the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for an integrated township at the plant site, which will be developed at a cost of Rs 970 crore.
The event was attended by State Ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Adluri Laxman Kumar, along with Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy. Energy Department Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal and TSGENCO CMD Dr. Harish were also present.
