Hyderabad, July 22 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu today emphasised that the state government is fully prepared to face any legal challenges that may arise in implementing 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs).
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat, Bhatti said the decision to extend 42% reservations to BCs was based on the findings of the caste census conducted by the state government.
"We are committed to this decision, even if legal complications emerge. We will not back down," he declared.
Bhatti hit out at the BJP, recalling how the party had initially dismissed the need for a caste census.
