Hyderabad, Nov. 10 -- Director General of Police B Shivdhar Reddy has called for increased public awareness to curb the rising number of cyber crimes in Telangana.
Launching a state-wide cyber crime prevention campaign titled "Jaagrut Hyderabad - Surakshit Hyderabad" at Jalavayu Tower Community Hall in Kawadiguda on Sunday, the DGP said cyber crime has become a serious social issue affecting people across age groups.
As part of the initiative, the 'Cyber Simbha' volunteer logo and QR code were unveiled, and badges were distributed to campaign volunteers.
DGP Shivdhar Reddy said criminals are increasingly targeting citizens through phone calls, social media and online platforms by accessing personal details.
