Hyderabad, March 11 -- Telangana state Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivdhar Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the Uruguay-Scotland match in the ongoing Women's Hockey World Championship 2026 at the Gachibowli Stadium.
The Director General of Police formally started the match by interacting with the players on the field and striking the ball to mark the opening of the game.
The contest, played under the full-base card line format, turned out to be an exciting encounter.
After the match, the DGP presented the Player of the Match award to a Scotland player in recognition of her performance.
The prestigious championship was inaugurated on March 8 by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
