Hyderabad, Dec. 31 -- : The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana significantly stepped up regulatory vigilance and enforcement during 2025, conducting 244 seizures and detecting 84 sub-standard medicines in the market, according to its Annual Report-2025 released on Wednesday.

The report said the department, entrusted with ensuring the availability of safe, efficacious and quality medicines, carried out 28,816 inspections across manufacturing units, wholesale and retail outlets, blood centres and other licensed premises during the year.

As many as 5,278 regulatory actions were initiated for violations of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and other applicable laws, resulting in 217 convictions.
